Oh, Eva . . . I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. I know only too well how much it hurts. Your devotion to Romeo -- and his devotion to you -- was so obvious to everyone. What a wonderful life he had with you. This song was written about human relationships, but I think it speaks to our Boxer relationships, too. I'm so glad you shared the "dance" with your Romeo.

Maryann

THE DANCE
Tony Arata

Looking back on the memory of
The dance we shared 'neath the stars above
For a moment all the world was right
How could I have known that you'd ever say goodbye

Chorus ..

And now I'm glad I didn't know
The way it all would end, the way it all would go
Our lives are better left to chance
I could have missed the pain
But I'd of had to miss the dance

Holding you, I held everything
For a moment wasn't I a king
But if I'd only known how the King would fall
Hey, whose to say, you know
I might have changed it all

Repeat chorus

Tag:

Yes my life is better left to chance
I could have missed the pain
But I'd of had to miss the dance

Hello Eva,

The rest of us greive with you in your loss of Romeo. Although I had
never met him I can tell from his titles that he was a great looking
boxer. From his TDI that he was a gentle and caring Boxer. From his
CD and SchH III that he was a smart Boxer who enjoyed pleasing you

He lived a full life and was loved. What more could he have wanted.

Take care.

Eva,
I'm very sorry for your loss. Romeo is a very handsome (I just visited your website) and well accomplished boy. Eleven years, although short, is a ripe old age for a boxer boy. I hope your feelings of great fortune having loved him and kept him for 11 years can out weigh the pain of having to say goodbye. I know it must be difficult.

Sincerely,

So sorry to hear about Romeo passing away. It is a very hard decision to have to make. Although I haven't had to make that decision with any of my boxers, I had to with my horse this past fall. With heartfelt sympathy...

Dear Eva, please accept my condolences on the passing of your beloved Romeo. The pain of losing our older ones is very deep, but the memories that will later mitigate the grief are also very deep. Part of loving our dogs is knowing when to let them go. You are very brave.

Eva,

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss of Romeo. It struck me particularly,
because I have an 11 year old boxer myself, who has just gone through major surgery. He is doing well from that, but I see him losing strength and energy from age, and know that it won't be very long before I will be facing the same situation you had with Romeo.

How nice that you have his progeny to carry on. Give them extra hugs.

I was saddened to read of the loss of your best friend. That decision is by far the hardest to have to make but I think because of the love they have so unselfishly given to us we can not betray their trust by not being strong enough. I didn't fully understand that until faced with that with my Hullabaloo last Sept. After 14.5 years of total enjoyment with her I was not ready until her brown eyes that had told me so much over the years made my heart understand. It is something I still think about a lot.

Romeo was definetly an ambassador for the breed of Boxer! I feel fortunate to have met him and spent even if only a brief amount of time with him. You were very fortunate to have enjoyed his most loyal and true companionship for the 11 years you two shared. I still enjoy watching the video tape of him you made.

My thoughts and prayers are with you now and in the future as you face each day.

Dear Eva,

No one of us can really know what another is going through completely. Especially at the loss of a companion we have put so much of ourselves into. However, dog lovers, and owners share that bond of having an insight to the pain of your loss. We will remember you and Romeo in our thoughts and prayers here at the Beavercreek Pack.

We suffered the loss of a 12 1/2 year old last summer, under similar
circumstances. It is more than hard. It is equal to one of the major lifestresses. Intellectualy it is the only answer. Emotionally an overwhelming and exhausting decision. Bless you for your courage.

Regards to you and your Mona who is probably missing her life companion as well.

I have to admit, I'm a bit shy because I know how rough it is to lose your canine friend. I'm silently hurting and at the same time feeling guilty for having Zach (I know that makes no sense, it's purely emotional).

Enjoy Romeo's offspring...he lives in them.

Dear Eva
I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Eleven years is a good lifetime for a boxer, but it may make the loss even harder for you.
I hope you will enjoy your vacation with your Mother, Spain is a
wonderful in the Spring!
When you have a chance, could you please tell me a bit about the kennel name Tekenova? I have seen this name before in Massachusetts. I had thought about going to Finland this summer and of course am interested in seeing some boxers while there.
Again, please accept my kindest wishes.

take care

Dear Eva and Family

I am truly sorry to here of Romeo's passing. The world has lost a true
working boxer. Many times while training by boy, I would here the ever present comments of "boxers can't do schutzhund, they've lost there working ability, etc". I would always think of Romeo and smile to myself. Little did they know. Though I never met your dear boy, he was a source of encouragement to myself and other boxer owners in the face of adversity.

May your sorrow ease quickly and your memories last a lifetime.

Hello Eva,
I was saddened to read of your loss of Romeo. I visited your home-
page and saw his picture. Romeo was surely a beautiful boxer!
I know how hard it is to lose a friend, as I lost a 4 YO boxer to
cancer and a 6 YO boxer to CM! Actually, it was nine years ago
today that I lost my Max! Hardly a day passes that I don't think
of my departed boxers, and the memories are dear to me.
You have my deepest sympathy. My prayers are with you!
